Some more photos of Australian birds mixed with irrelevant facts and mediocre half-jokes, as a way to pass away the time while being under lockdown in Shanghai (note: it is over now but this post was written during the lockdown). It must be a bit frustrating for a flower to be less colorful than the bird visiting it though.

These guys are sometimes called the Nick Jr animals, tho their group name will be called something else. Come on and meet the crew. These guys are all different species and genders, tho despite that, they still coexist with one another without killing each other somehow. Anyways, here are all their names and genders.

Hundreds of burned, stressed and dehydrated animals — including kangaroos, koalas, lizards and birds — have already arrived at shelters across the scorched region.

After publishing my stories I got emails from people all over the world who had seen similar behavior in various birds and mammals. Nonetheless, they adjusted their behavior to allow Babyl to remain with the group. Caledonian crows live in small family groups and youngsters learn to fashion and use tools by watching adults.

I was looking out a car window the other day and noticed that of all the wildlife most of it was bird. A squirrel skittered by … a squirrel is not a bird. So the thought occurred to me that there is a lot of bird on the landscape, in terms of numbers of individuals as well as sheer biomass. Paul islands, studied by Darwin.

The bird life certainly changes a bit, with a complete lack of water, unless you are at a town, well, or station, as many of the ranches are referred to. I guess this a great reason to come back and find that bird again… we will call that the silver lining in a major screw up. The second half of our week was spent in Sydney.

Near the town of Mareeba in the centre of the Tablelands, I didn’t visit it for birds, but instead to see a representative of that most Australian of animals, the kangaroo. Like the rest of the group it has a tiny world distribution, patchily occurring in the Atherton Tableland and up to the Daintree.
