People have moved useful plants and animals around with them as long as they had the wit to do so. So that New Zealand would end up with quite a few species of animal not originally found here is hardly surprising of itself. We don’t have monkeys, or wildebeest, or salmon here. In many ways, that is exactly what happened.

Especially in the dry season, bands join together forming grazing herds, which can number up to 1,200 animals (although 500-600 is more normal.) they are the most terrestrial primate after humans.
