It's impersonal and hideously ugly and the animals suffer greatly. However, the solution they have created, which harkens back to before industrialized agriculture, is simply to still raise animals for their flesh and secretions, and for profit, but to do it the old-fashioned way. No argument here. It's just not right.

We have a request, and it's an issue I've written about a handful of times but never had this particular question answered by readers: How do you talk with your vet--who is against feeding your dog vegan food--about your choice to do so? I'm fortunate to have a regular (non-specialist) vet who has no problem at all with a vegan diet for dogs.

For me, the focus on culture and tradition is basically an excuse for "anything goes" when it comes to animals. Are the kids cooking monkey, cat, dog, alligator or turtle? I wonder how much they learn about the animals other cultures eat. (In But I bet anything doesn't go. Any other factories on the agenda? One is male.

Basically the animal was five feet in front of him, and the boy shot him in the head, killing him. Going to an area where an animal has lived for decades, and hasn't bothered anyone, and killing him is okay. Killing animals might land you on national television, which is fun. Where's the hunting? Just like his daddy taught him.

I think it was about hot dogs. TD, of course, wasn't too keen on hot dogs for nutritional reasons at the very least. Sister-in-law doesn't disagree with what TD says about hot dogs, but says: "Everything in moderation." Slaughter in moderation. really, Mary?) peeved upon hearing or reading these words. The eating of non-grain-eating animals, e.g., fish and wild game, is morally permissible on this view. Nobody wants existing animals to be slaughtered.

Finally, if you know someone who gravitates toward the philosophical issues around our use of animals, this is a good book. Ever, in fact. Not great, but good. Imagine being served a plate of sushi.
