I took my dog out last night around 1 AM and was frightened by this low pitch screaming sound coming from off in the distance. It did not sound human so I am wondering what type of animal it may be. We have some farms with livestock nearby as well. Genuinely curious what it might be.

I live with one dog and my elderly father. My dog is a livestock guardian breed so when she saw the mouse I just said to leave it and now it walks right past her too she ignores it like the spiders, I made sure she was well trained. I've got my dad and me and the dog to worry about and I keep a clean house.

This is not totally animal-related, but I'll share anyway. And there are towns where packs of dogs are roaming about and keeping people indoors. On an animal note, I will say that the treatment of animals is very bad in the Central Valley. Lots of "guard dogs" outdoors for their entire lives, etc.
