According to the eBird description, it is everything I am not: a “neon-colored, noisy, highly social bird” Shudder to think (not the bird part though). Next, this post has a long section on babblers, a very ill-defined category of birds. But some of them look pretty interesting.

She runs Birds of Texas Rehabilitation Center in Austin County, Texas. Upon arrival we were given strict and non-flexible rules: never go even one inch off the ice paths, never allow the tiniest piece of litter to escape, never interact in any way with the wildlife, and cause absolutely no environmental damage. Who its predators were?

A fact to which my wife will begrudgingly attest, as my memory is excellent when it comes to anything bird-related yet exceptionally poor otherwise. I expected to learn a thing or two and possibly see some birds I had never seen before. As prolific as the area was, the group was on the move. Never saw it. Common Ground Dove.

There's now a litter in my yard and still no sign of Mama, although they may just be exploring their territory. My yard is always so full of animals paying me a visit, that it's become a Disney princess satire. The birds know my voice and this one beat up looking squirrel actually comes right up to me.

It gets interesting here, because the bar manager had no idea it was a rare bird and was just helping out a bird that had flown into a window. We noted that the Sobrane Gallery had a lot of leaf litter underneath it. We widened our search, but we kept returning to the leaf litter under the Sobrane Gallery. There it was!
