Because there is no national list of birders, the survey was conducted using eBird membership in the United States, which may or may not be representative of American birders generally. Nationally, most birdwatching occurred in California (9%), followed by New York (6%), Texas (5%), Pennsylvania (5%), Florida (5%), and Ohio (4%).

Hornaday, once director of the New York Zoological Garden, wrote that a naturalist in a county of northern Pennsylvania claimed to have fed a flock of 300 pigeons during the autumn of about 1903. Another nature lover of central Pennsylvania, John H. He claims to have watched the bird for about twenty minutes. Tice (July 2001).

We don’t simply learn that Great Horned Owls sometimes eat fish, we learn that in northeastern California, they eat Tui chub and in Pennsylvania they eat brown bullhead catfish.

There is a stop-motion animation about John James Audubon, a paean to Ralph Bell (a long-time western Pennsylvania birder), another stop-motion animation about bird song, and a lesson on building a simple birdfeeder.
