Back from Seattle

We had a blast, the family and I, and experienced some amazing natural places, to say nothing of the fine city of Seattle. The Lucky Diner on First Avenue in Seattle has delicious food. Ditto for the Blackbird Bakery on Bainbridge Island, Fins Coastal Cuisine in Port Townsend, and Ezell’s Chicken in Seattle.

The the mid year winners are….

This Great Blue Heron was found up near Seattle this winter, and I was as cold as this birds looks to be! I happen to think the Crested Cara cara is one of the most beautiful birds in the falcon family. They stay here in Mexico despite the heat, and raise their families. With that massive bill, it makes for a wonderful profile!

Circumstances have been such, that the bulk of my visits to Nisqually, have been in the winter, so the refuge, in the peak of a Seattle Summer, is a much different place. Back in the US of A!
