In December, she had serious trouble breathing so we rushed her to the emergency vet again. We brought her home and on New Year's Day (of course!) It was a horrible night, but she made it through the night and recovered at our regular vet's. Then in April 2008, we were told she had terminal cancer.

The woman from the coalition knows and respects the vets at Pahokee, which of course isn't as good as my own vet being on the case, but I'm sure it'll all work out fine. We took her to the vet and put her on medication, and somehow she pulled through. They bring us gifts daily – garbage, of course, marbles they surely stole from some poor child, water bottles, even car parts. The two older ones were in pretty good shape, but we were not sure the third would make it.
