Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. Cats would be the next. From the ones that have a good chance to survive.

And despite their tiny size, they are supposed to be as intelligent as rats which I believe are as smart or smarter than dogs and cats. Note that neither dogs nor cats have hands, but both mice and rats do. Given that both dogs and cats can use word buttons, how interesting to learn what mice are thinking. Point taken.

Just as the ranger was telling us that we might see wild cats – well, not wild cats, but rather, Wildcats , the wild version of the domestic cat, Felis silvestris lybica , one of those cats popped its head out of the brush about 50 feet beyond her. The most interesting thing about this cat was lack of kitty-cat-ness.

We are a far bigger problem on this planet than the (over)population of feral cats, elephants, Canada geese, or any other creature we "manage" or want to manage, "humanely" or otherwise. In my experience there are at least a handful of issues that involve compromise when the idea of veganism collides with real life.
