BirdLife International believes that this might be maximum population the species can reach, as it seems to completely saturate its range. The bird will therefore now be known as. Atlantisia Rogersi.

Cliff Swallows and Pest Management

I know it sounds strange, especially when the folks at Mission San Juan Capistrano are trying to coax them back by playing recordings of the bird’s mating calls. Because I am a local Audubon board member, I was recently contacted by a bird lover who witnessed Cliff Swallow nests being destroyed at the marina where they dock their boat.

But a a package, if I had to rate the best places I’ve ever been birding, the only place I can think that comes close is Mweya, in Uganda, or maybe Tikal, in Guatemala. There are, certainly, places I’ve enjoyed more.

Birding around Karratha

The weather in Karratha was very hot during our visit with daytime temperatures of 38c (100f) and the predominant birds in the township were Little Corella , Crested Pigeons and Silver Gulls. Karratha is a town built on industry and first impressions do not give you particularly high hopes for any good birding areas.

Melbourne to Beaumaris along the coast

As I continued south I stopped at each small jetty to see which species were roosting and the sea was substantially rougher than on my previous visit. Black-winged Stilt at St Kilda.
