The Struggle to Save the Birds of Honduras

A Spanish version of the following article appeared in the 9/4/11 edition of the Honduran publication, La Tribuna. The quail, guans, ducks and pheasant are hunted for their meat. On top of being illegal to capture and sell birds in the country, it is also immoral. Little boys kill thousands of birds each year with slingshots.

Hornbills of Sabah

Another item they feed on is hunting edible bird nest swiftlets, which are quite common in edible swiftlet houses in Sabah, Malaysia ( source ). The first attempt in hunting was made by the male hornbill which was seen snapping at a passing swiftlet, but was unsuccessful.
