Bea directed me to an interview with Dr. Elizabeth Parker , the "chair man " (my emphasis) of the Animal Agriculture Alliance at CattleNetwork, which apparently is "The Source for Cattle News." If any "drastic measures" are employed, they are to remove animals from suffering, not to impose our dietary choices on others.

I don't know how seriously to take this, or if it's just the ag industry pulling an NRA stunt (ie. The proposal was one of several drafted after a 2007 Supreme Court ruling found that greenhouse gases the animals emit through flatulence or belching amounts to air pollution. per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog.

Bottom line: If you’re running a business where you allow the kinds of shortcuts that let animal abuse happen, please sell it and leave the industry now. Overlooked this one. Find another line of work. It will be too late.

The Light-vented Bulbul apparently benefits from being a social animal, which I personally (being not very social) find a bit unfair. Actually, that is more aligned with the Latin species name (fortipes) than the English name. So maybe the English-speaking ornithologists just wanted to show off their non-colorblindness.
