I found this bird outside my house, it seemed like it couldn’t fly or walk anymore, so I took it to the vet. It’s a sea bird, not a seagull, I think it might be a Caspian Gull. Vet suggested I feed it with vitamins for a week, but my issue is it can’t even get up, and if it tries then it struggles then falls.

Once I thought there were no more cats I continued my walk for a few minutes and then came back to check on the bird again. I tried to contact vets but nobody is available late in the night, so I decided to keep her overnight. I shooed away the cats and waited with the crow as the other one flew away. I don’t know what to do.

My cats caught a bird and luckily I found him before he was harmed to badly. I really don’t know what to do since I can’t take him to the vet. Edit: the bird recovered and flew away but he now came back. He has a thing on his leg that says “year 2023” so I’m pretty sure he has a owner. Will he recover on his own?

It seemed whoever set the trap had ‘released’ the injured eagle upon finding him, as the bird could not have freed himself without the loss of the entire foot. This bird was lucky to be found and rescued by a Good Samaritan in this remote area. We immediately started the bird on Clavamox for infection, and Tramadol for pain.

I’m not sure what the collective noun for a group of petrels is, but the vets and wildlife carers of New Zealand might be forgiven for thinking that it might be a wreck after this week. The bird takes a mouth-ful of water and then forces the water through them, trapping the planktonic organisms which it eats.
