Conversely, animals who are personally safe are not endangered, even if they belong to an endangered species (14).

The European Parliament approves of the ban on testing on large primates (chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans), which are threatened with extinction, except in experiments aimed at conservation of these endangered species. Soon we were out of the protected harbour and into choppier waters, and here I have to say I suffered for about two hours from the dreaded affliction known as sea-sickness. The final large petrel species is another gadfly petrel, albeit a much larger one than the Cook’s Petrel. I personally had a great if exhausting day.

Presumably most animals—even infants—would have the right not to suffer.

It's a great primer on extinction and conservation for the layperson.

There are are presently thought to be five species of kiwi with a possible sixth extinct species, all of which have suffered varying degrees of range contraction since the arrival of humans. Both these tours are for the Little Spotted Kiwi , the smallest species and one now one mainly confined to offshore islands.

To avoid this complication, Martin should have stipulated that no suffering is involved in the production of animal legs. Suffering is more than pain. On the other hand, the animal kingdom per se (in contrast to particular animal species) does not provide any morally relevant grounds for the positive content of vegetarianism.
