Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. The ones who would last until the very end would be lions , tigers bears, eagles and wolves. Cats would be the next.

Things have been tough at the San Francisco Zoo after Tatiana the Siberian tiger attacked those three people in 2007. The zoo made major changes to its emergency-response procedures, including raising the wall of the tiger grotto, found to be about 4 feet shorter than what national standards recommend. It's a long list.

A private zoo operator in Taiwan cross-bred lions and tigers, resulting in three "liger" cubs. Tags: zoos taiwan tigers lion endangered species. One died and the other two were seized for sheltering at a research institution. Both species are endangered and it is illegal to cross breed them. From Focus Taiwan.

Most gallingly of all, I had actually stood next to someone that saw one, jumping into a tree to escape a Tiger of all things, and failed to see it. The only exceptions to this are the Lions , which are spectacularly unconcerned by people, and, to a lesser extent, Cheetahs. Leopards were problem species for me.

Though, honestly, Brown Violetears are pretty bland as hummingbirds go even when they are roaring like a mighty lion. This Bare-throated Tiger-Heron at Cuero y Salado was the first I had seen in seven years. One of the things that make trips to the Neotropics great is hummingbirds like this Brown Violetear at Pico Bonito.

The tigers keep wandering out of their reserve and taking cattle from nearby villages, taking what little these already poor people have. Perhaps it would be better to move the tigers to that bigger reserve, or maybe a zoo.
