Many of these changes (loss of legs, different type of locomotion, highly modified skull, loss of eyelids, ambush predator hunting strategy) have caused snakes to appear less "anthropomorphic" than lizards or turtles for example. Chickens enjoy being together in small flocks, sunning, dust bathing and scratching in the soil for food. All of the male hatchlings are either smothered or ground up alive.

The HSUS isn't even anti-hunting ! Perhaps it is the industry's inability to evolve morally that is behind the times. They do appear to wish to put an end to what they believe are the worst abuses of institutionalized animal agriculture, such as gestation crates and veal crates, but that's hardly a call to end animal agriculture.

There's not enough evidence for an accusation of moral relativism, but for me the message is a mixed one. Some have tried to resolve this gap by hunting or butchering an animal themselves, as if those experiences might somehow legitimize the endeavor of eating animals. He is against it for himself and his family. This is very silly.
