What do we do about trophy ("sport") hunting?

I hate when animals are killed needlessly simply to be stuffed or their heads hung on the wall. Popular hunting magazines make animal rights groups like they're the bad guys. "We need to watch out for the ASPCA, the humane society, PETA, etc." Trophy hunters simply enjoy stepping on their heads. What are we to do?
