An afternoon in the Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa

The dirt road winds in between rocky outcrops – kopjes, by Burchell’s Zebras and Greater Kudus. A little further, there’s a family group of Savannah Elephants with two two-year olds. Those that crossed the road first are waiting for the rest of the group at the other side. The others follow, some dozen animals in all.

We were soon aware of s small group of Zebra Finch in the tree and although we have seen them drink from the sea in the past we thought some fresh water would be much appreciated!
