I was fortunate enough to spot the individual in this post at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge where it was foraging in bushes and small trees between four and fifteen off of the ground. I flew into Denver from Mexico. I might have to add the Dallas airport staff to the list of things Buffon was right about. After a pleasant morning with ducks, crisp snow and sunshine, we followed the wildlife trail on our way out. We stopped at Rosie’s Diner. I can recommend it.

So perhaps it is more right to say that the tropics are hummingbird-looking. More than any other member of their tribe, they are equipped to survive the getting-lost experience. This bird spent the 2011-2012 winter at Colusa National Wildlife Refuge in northern California, migrated someplace exotic and distant in February, and returned to the same pond at the beginning of this month. It was a heart-pounding scene straight out of Jurassic Park, an odd experience for a laid-back pursuit like birding.

I was trying to find that answer for a while and it turned into a very annoying experience. Mexico 1120 15. Being a land-locked country with 1400+ species is remarkable in its own right.
