The Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages calls itself "an animal rights-protection-abolitionist organization," which I find interesting. The well being of the horses should be the ideal of every organization whose mandate is to put animal protection ideals first - especially when they ask for donations based on that mandate.

Out of the corner of your eye, something menacing and not quite organic appears. The scientists hope this research will help guide ethical drone use around birds. The moral of the story is, if you could keep your drone from dropping vertically down onto unsuspecting birds, they would really appreciate it, k thx bye!

Here is a New York Times editorial opinion about organic fish. The Times argues that the concept of organic food does not apply to wild animals. Note that this debate is independent of the debate about the moral permissibility of eating fish. It is designed to distinguish between two types of farming.

However, both his perceptions and misconceptions are based on: 1) observing the work of PeTA and HSUS; and 2) the assumption that those two organizations are in the same category--"animal rights." It has absolutely nothing to do with any genuine environmentalist ethic. Now, I know you're saying: That's not what animal rights is.

A third of a century ago, when the modern animal-liberation movement was in its infancy, Martin published an essay entitled “A Critique of Moral Vegetarianism,” Reason Papers (fall 1976): 13-43. You will, therefore, agree with Martin about moral vegetarianism but not about Christianity. Another reason is moral. One is health.

However, there's a context here, and that context is that the message is coming from an organization that focuses on the science angle of our use of sentient nonhumans (i.e., Tags: Activism Current Affairs Ethics Language. My dogs eat vegan dog food.
