Another Great Shorebirding Day at Jamaica Bay

Saturday morning, 30 August 2014, was a perfect time for shorebirding at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge’s East Pond. When I finally took myself away from the dowitchers I scanned north and spotted a young Bald Eagle feeding on a duck. Then the eagle took off from where it was hiding and all the shorebirds near me skedaddled.
