But of course, you can skip them when getting near the end of this post – though that will mean not using your knowledge and skills to help Afghan women. And of course, there is a large number of Rock Doves (feral), particularly near one particular mosque. Oh god, I sound like the Pope now.

Finding a Country First: Pectoral Sandpiper in Uganda

So we made our way to the grounds of the Uganda Wildlife Education Center , a former zoo that now rehabilitates injured animals. Of course, finding a first country record on the first morning of the African Birding Expo was extremely fortuitous. Rare birds are weird, and a bird as rare as a first country record is a special experience.

Meanwhile, on The Zoo, the keepers have been creating an environment for Thelma and Louise so they can nurture the hoped-for egg from The Stud and Serendipity.
