Out on one of the rocks that were visible during low tide, a small group of Harlequin Ducks had gathered. A pair Bald Eagles were doing fly-bys over our heads , and there were Belted Kingfishers, Canada Geese , A pair of Mallards, and three Great Blue Herons. The Pigeon Guillemot is bringing a small fish for breakfast back to the nest.

Every year, Ducks Unlimited of Mexico, A.C. The various national versions of Ducks Unlimited are mostly an outgrowth of sports hunting. and Canada, but also in Latin American wintering grounds. Now, I secretly do suspect that many millions of ducks may spend the winter in my own backyard.
