Jake’s favorite before-bedtime book when he was just a bit younger was Owl Babies by Martin Waddell, a picture book I had picked up at a nature center. By the middle of the book, Jake and his younger brother Zach would be chiming in, “I want my mommy,” and when Mama Owl finally return, they would rejoice along with the owlets.

I am quite nervous to introduce them for a few reasons, one being the kitten in the opposite sex and isn’t fixed yet. This will be happening, however we need to wait to book this appointment the humane society says (they give owners so many days to come forward). I am worried this kitten may spray.

We really enjoyed the book a lot! The author, Elizabeth Rogers, is also the co-author of the New York Times bestseller The Green Book.

The book, Animal Shelter Portraits , captures just a small glimpse of what our furry friends experience in shelter situations. The photos in the book made me want to reach out and save each one of them. From dogs to cats, kittens, and even birds and rabbits, there are all kinds of animals to be found at shelters.

The reason why I thought of venous blood as being blue is that this is how it was – mistakenly – shown in the biology books used in school ( source ). A good reason to come back again (also, the hotel where I stayed had four very cute kittens which one night all fell asleep on my lap.

Eliot’s whimsical letters to his godchildren which became “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” an archive that much later became the inspiration for the musical CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The stars turned out for the 2nd annual CATS for Cats charity event on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
