These guys are all different species and genders, tho despite that, they still coexist with one another without killing each other somehow. Anyways, here are all their names and genders. Frank and Johnny, father and son, both male : Frank is pretty much the leader/ringmaster of this wacky crew.

It is near a river, attracting some birds that like to eat wet food. As the national bird of Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, the African Fish Eagle is usually very busy whenever it stays in these countries, giving speeches, opening shopping centers, etc. The birds I asked about this pretended not to be related to anyone though.

I was going to have something for you this month about the dinosaur-bird thing, but I never got to it. The potpourri covers some interesting bird related science of the last few weeks, and the promise is this: I’ll get to that other stuff soon, I promise! As is often the case for tropical ecosystems, there may be hundreds of species of birds at a site, but many of them are naturally rare. In Africa, one elephant is being killed every 15 minutes. But the “illegal international trade” is already there, killing – among other places – in Kruger (S. Steven had no binoculars, but impressively sharp eyes and great knowledge of birds. Another ellie is being killed as you read this line. Perhaps 15 minutes?

Birds are supposed to have feathers and birds without feathers look incomplete, like they left home with shaving cream on their ear and toothpaste spots on their shirt.
