I have been thinking about this for awhile after I saw some people online with things like a pet skunk and even someone with a barn owl. I have always held the belief that most animals should be in the wild because that’s their natural habitat and they can get the stimulation and environment they need.

We do have a possum and a raccoon that live somewhere on the property. I think I heard an owl once last winter. I have never once seen a cat anywhere in my neighborhood. or even this city for that matter. None of my neighbors have cats and I'm only aware of one dog owner blocks away. Lots of squirrels, chipmunks, deer, rabbits.

They are all wonderful people and they are all animal lovers. But I’ve learned we love animals in very different ways. I have a dog, cats (domestic and feral), birds raccoons, hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes, bunnies and mice…they all share the yard and the woods.
