Block pleaded guilty in February to felony conspiracy to violate the Lacey and Endangered Species Acts by conspiring to smuggle orangutans. According to this website , Worldwide Primates has received $2,411,795.00

Another animal dies at the Calgary Zoo and more questions are being raised about their practices. The Calgary Zoo is again under scrutiny as details emerged Friday about how a capybara, a species of giant South American rodent, died after becoming caught in a hydraulic door last weekend as it was being moved from one area to another.

This horrible incident has raised some tough questions indeed. The hysteria of the crowd surely played a part in escalating an already frightening situation. Further, did those who reacted so strongly to Harambe’s killing go home and serve meat to their children? In my opinion, neither Harambe nor the child should ever have been at the zoo.
