I have long thought that the Cape May Warbler should have its common name changed to match its scientific name, Setophaga tigrina , because “ Tiger Warbler ” is a much cooler name. It was hard to keep up with the rapid movements of the Cape May Warbler as it hunted down its invertebrate prey but I managed some decent shots.

After purchasing an Audubon field guide to butterflies over the summer, I have slowly begun to learn a few species here and there. Another birding fail. By this time I was frustrated.

Oehlenschlager apologized that he couldn’t say the exact species of bat. Who cares, the fact that he could narrow it down to 2 species was quite amazing to me. Great horneds are known as the “Tiger of the Woods&# because they’ll hunt anything and they are good at it, but they are slow and stealthy.

As she continued her monologue about these cats, the Wildcat cautiously walked in our direction, never taking its eyes off of us, stiff-legged, ears motionless, striped like a standard “tiger” domestic cat but entirely in grays. He also had tigers, cougars, and some other animals. They are invasive species.
