Calgary Zoo in Big Trouble

Critter News

We've written about the Calgary Zoo here before. To many people, the number of animal fatalities at the Calgary Zoo in newer years seemed very high. Birding Dulan County, Qinghai

10,000 Birds

Given that it is hard to mention one of my favorite bands, the Mountain Goats, in a birding blog, these photos of blue sheep are probably the best opportunity I will ever get. This past weekend the listservs, Facebook, text services, Twitter, word-of-mouth, weather radar, the calendar, and the entrails of a sacrificial goat all indicated that migration was happening. And was it ever! Reports abounded of a huge variety of birds, from thrushes to nightjars, terns to vireos. And, of course, the wood-warblers.
