German Court Bans PETA "Holocaust" Campaign

PETA wants to run a campaign that compares factory farming to the Holocaust. The German constitutional court has ruled that animal rights organisation PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) must end its campaign in which it draws a comparison between the Holocaust and industrial farming. Touchy subject there in Germany.

They are forced to work in factories owned by a hideous woman, Gretsch. Animals are indeed enslaved, but in real life they're not making widgets in factories. I'm giving the book a vegan/animal rights message because that's my lens. The factory is supposed to be a proxy for all of that, but it doesn't work for me.

The result is that on one level he knows that hurting sentient nonhumans isn't right, but if it's done in a certain respectful way (oxymoron, anyone?) He romanticizes his childhood usage of animals as if that was the right way to do it , and he longs for those days. What that means is that it wasn't a factory-farm operation.
