While eating lunch with Daisy and her family at a picnic area in Joshua Tree National Park the other day a small chipmunk-looking creature ventured out of the rock formation we were eating next to. White-tailed Antelope Squirrels are endearing little squirrels and it is well worth making their acquaintance.

Keep finding decapitated mice/rats under car

Lots of squirrels, chipmunks, deer, rabbits. the last part is raptor behavior but I can't imagine what kind of bird would be small enough to choose this space when there's 300 yds of chain link fence right there, and I've yet to see a dead squirrel, rabbit or chipmunk.
