There was even that outside, enticing chance of documenting something new for Costa Rica. Also known as the Fairy Tern, this species breeds on Cocos Island and is very rarely seen from pelagic trips in Costa Rica. Gazing at the empty water, brief flashes of doubt came to mind. Were there going to be any birds?

Humane Society Exposes Petland Practices

This news story slipped by in November. Documented USDA violations at some of Petland's breeders and suppliers included dirty, unkempt enclosures; inadequate shelter from the cold; dogs kept in too small cages; and inadequate veterinary care. This time it's Petland, who I'm glad to say has no stores in my area (that I know of.)
