Birding Tongbiguan, Yunnan (part 1)

10,000 Birds

Welcome to Birding Tongbiguan, part 1. 10,000 Birds

There are few sights more wrenching to a wildlife rehabilitator than a convulsing, lead-poisoned bird. This is not protecting hunters’ rights; this is taking away a law that protects the health of both hunters and wildlife. On November 13, “The Sportsmen’s Heritage Act” will come in front of the Senate.

Ka’ena Point is also a breeding ground for the Federally protected Laysan albatross, where 45 nests were being carefully monitored by the non-profit Pacific Rim Conservation.
