Now and then individual catfish of various species hunt nearer the surface and larger catfish such as the American Channel Cat will take a duck or other water bird. So, the modal catfish is a fish that hunts from below, can take large prey, and occasionally eats a bird. Here is a video of some Wels Catfish foraging on Pigeons.

The Inuit harvest, or hunt, polar bears in Canada. "In s director of wildlife, Gabriel Nirlinguyak} said, recalling that the two had cooperated on bowhead whale management issues. He said that a lot of Inuit feel betrayed by the animal rights movement, and by some biologists when it comes to polar bears.

There is a profound difference between what Sea Shepherd does and what the Animal Liberation Front does, but there are also similarities, and those similarities increase in number if a direct action by the ALF (or anyone else) is an open rescue and therefore a direct defense of sentient nonhumans being attacked by humans. What put this once small fishing town on the map was not birds but mammals, specifically whales and dolphins. The reason Kaikoura is such a great place to see albatrosses and whales is one and the same, and the same reason indeed that Monterrey in California is a great place to watch whales and albatross.

At sea there are also New Zealand Sea Lions and Southern Right Whales. The site serves as a breeding centre for endangered birds and animals, and you can walk around large aviaries and even a night house to see captive kiwi. This is a good place to see the endangered and beautiful Yellowhead and the endemic Yellow-eyed Penguin.
