The Southern Brown Kiwi on Stewart Island, New Zealand, that ran down the path in front of me, was never captured. The birds are now breeding in the area, but are quite happy to keep coming to the daily feeding station in groups of over 100 birds. The first bird in that grouping would be the White-crowned Helmut-shrike.
