Birding in a place where animals are assiduously cared for and not harassed in any form or fashion means that the encounters themselves are essentially guaranteed to be memorable – and not of fleeing bird behinds! Due to the plethora of bird species around, invariably we were to experience something breathtaking.

Those bears live in the wild and are not used to humans. How did I know that?

Its amazing to me that there are still places on earth where wildlife is blissfully unafraid of humans. These mangroves function as a sanctuary for fish and other animals that then make their way as adults across the channel to the coral reefs that surround the island. Red-billed Tropicbirds nest on these craggy cliffs.

Crocodile warning As you walk out towards the hide the birdlife is not the least bit bothered about any human activity and remains along the water’s edge. There are informative paintings of the birdlife that you may experience and benches positioned well for observing the area.
