The Cattle Egret Expansion

I’d like to introduce you to a diminutive heron, the Cattle Egret Bubuclus ibis. The Cattle Egret is native to Africa, where it is a familiar sight among herds of large mammals. Cattle Egret is more closely related to herons in the genus Ardea then the species termed egrets in the genus Egretta.

I am checking the grass for any flash of white and soon my suspicion is confirmed: Cattle Egrets (cover photo)! The first good bird was one Grey Plover (in North America a.k.a. There is a tin fishing hut on stilts and some sort of netting across the lagoon, either to prevent the larger fish getting in, or getting out of it.
