This leads me to my third twitch for the celebrated Falcated Duck ( Anas falcata ) at Colusa National Wildlife Refuge in January of 2012. In September of 2013 there was an Eastern Kingbird ( Tyrannus tyrannus ) seen in Redding, California, less than 30 miles from my home. This was a no-brainer. References: 1 Wikipedia.

She has grown up in the reserve and has no experience of the environment of which tourists would not be a permanent, however boring part of.

I photographed the first of only two Northern Parulas ever reported in my state, way back in 2013. Like the previous park, there were no ducks, coots, or grebes to be seen. Still, this sort of wildlife experience is available in pretty much any Mexican city. But it is a private property, to which I don’t have access.

The answers are: (1) the definition is what the authors have decided based on their experience and knowledge of taxonomy, and (2) the terms ‘oceanic birds’ and ‘seabirds’ are interchangeable (so, I will use both in this review). And, of course, the Petrels book only covers specific families North American seabirds.
