The individual I am pictured holding ( above ) was a friendly bird that (rather like a dog) seemed happy to be handled. Despite the fact that efforts are made to ensure they are not imprinted on humans, they are naturally confiding, even friendly. Such an intimate encounter with one of the world’s rarest birds was a memorable experience.

I purchased my first Sibley— The Sibley Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America —in 2003. Here’s a look at Sibley Birds East and Sibley Birds West (the books’ cover titles), feature by feature: Size & Cover: The new field guides are the roughly the same size as the 2003 editions, a bit higher, wider, and heavier.

In or about March 2003, PEACE, after consulting with VICK about the losing female pit bull's condition, executed the losing dog by wetting the dog down with water and electrocuting the animal. Of course, I wonder which NFL team will want him. And then there's this: 83. Sounds almost like they were making a game out of it.

Ferruginous Hawks are native to our western short-grass prairies and their diet comprises almost completely of prairie dogs. Well, the ongoing issues of land development, sport shooting, and the rancher’s war on these animals keeps prairie dog populations from ever booming. Not too bad eatin’, huh?

The gentleman living on a farm by the Ngotwane Dam said ‘A croc took my dog, right there!’. Published in the Canoeist, UK, July 2003. The lady living on a farm by the Gaborone Dam said ‘I saw a croc taking an egret.’. Her husband, a diving instructor, said ‘I wouldn’t dive in this lake.’. Cover: 20 years younger version of me.

In 2003, police in Warwickshire, England, opened a garden shed and found a whimpering, cowering dog. Geoff and the other sanctuary staff went to work with two aims to restore the dog to full health, and to win her trust. And for all of you naysayers, it was verified by Snopes. * It had been locked in the shed and abandoned.
