There was a time when I thought each bird species had its own individual song. Then I found out that there was this vocalization called a ‘call,’ so I thought each bird species had its own individual song (but just the males) and individual call. I do wish there was more about research on female bird song.

Picathartes – Africa’s strangest birds

I Remember Elephants

The way I see it, it is a cruel joke leading towards the extinction of a threatened species. One may say so. I say they were butchered, face-off.

Adonis Blue

ForestPuffin was targeting this species as it is very habitat dependent and, unbeknownst to me, such habitat exists within a big stone’s throw of my house. Thus it was that in 2002 a re-introduction scheme successfully brought the Adonis Blue Butterfly back to the North Downs.
