When Egret started a protest camp, blocking the lorries from entering the newly created dumping site, a few independent media covered the events, but the majority of state-subsidised (read: controlled) media remained deaf and blind. Reva had the semi-natural feeling of a forgotten green oasis at the outskirts of a busy city.

Some might even protest at being kept separate, raising their voices as they eye the main conference birds with hungry intent. The Accipiters and other bird predators would either have to be prohibited from attending or at least need to be kept separate from the rest of the tasty looking attendees.

According to a communique received by Bite Back , they did this in protest of Max Mara's use of furs. ALF activists in Polanco Mexico bombed a Max Mara clothing shop. Max Mara is an Italian fashion house. You can read about them here. With this sabotage we join the international week against MaxMara.

I agree with the protesters that producing, selling, buying, and wearing furs is wrong. Demonstrations may raise people’s consciousness, but they also alienate. One woman on television, trying on a fur, exclaimed “I wouldn’t mind finding this under my Christmas tree!”. I’m not sure I agree with their tactics, however.

It's too bad that Latimer's presentation is so obnoxious, as even when he raises what might be valid points, he makes you want to disagree with him. And one of that handful is the environment. Why do you suppose that is? Like I said, the entire animal rights "ethic" is both cynical and dishonest.

According to Wikipedia, “A l owl ife is a term for a person who is considered morally unacceptable by their community” The local Nanhui shrikes are well aware that the word “lowlife” has an owl hidden inside, and mark the appearance of owls in their territory with harsh protests.
