We took a trip a couple of weeks ago to Montana – Pablo Reservoir just south of Flathead Lake had 2 Snowies for awhile, but (of course) they left about a week before we got there. We, along the coast in Los Angeles County, have a FY Harris’s Sparrow here now for about a week. And I am jealous of your Harris’s Sparrow.

Ferruginous Hawks breed in the grasslands of eastern Montana, but they are rare in the mountains and in winter, so this bird was certainly a surprise.
