Many shelters do not intake pit bulls at all, and many of the shelters that do find themselves limited in their intake by state regulations or their own policies that dictate pit bull capacity. However, any breed of dog that has been abused, neglected, or homeless may be aggressive to humans or other dogs.

ASPCA , Joplin Humane Society to Host Weekend Adopt-a-thon for Joplin Tornado Pets. WHERE : Emergency Animal Shelter located next to the Joplin Humane Society (140 E. Adoption fees are being waived for this event, and adoptable animals will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and provided an ID tag free of charge.

I rejoined my local animal shelter's volunteer program a few months ago (long story as to why I quit in the first place). One day while I was volunteering I met a little pit bull puppy who was recovering from a spaying. There are also many "feral" and "food-aggressive" personality types in humans, but we don't put them down.)

Sadly, shelters and rescues are full of cats and are already full. So here is a bit of a reminder to please spay and neuter your pets… it’s so sad that these gorgeous kittens won’t know the fun of having a human servant! They sure are cute though, aren’t they?
