When we arrived we looked and there was our one-eyed eagle, eating a raccoon that had been hit. I raised them, banded them and released them back to their colony site that summer. It was like they said, “You reek of humans, go wash.”. We laugh because we are pretty darn sure he beat us back into Ohio. That was 9 years ago.
