To accommodate the sanctuary rabbits, our adoption center and our compassionate human visitors, Rabbit Meadows plans to build a series of small cottage-like structures among the picturesque fir trees on its grounds. who feel comfortable enough to return to Rabbit Meadows each year to raise their young.

When we arrived we looked and there was our one-eyed eagle, eating a raccoon that had been hit. Biologists are trying to get them to adopt nest boxes, but no luck with the CA birds so far. I raised them, banded them and released them back to their colony site that summer. That was 9 years ago.
