Heading out of Ecclesdown Road on the second day of my trip, I had nailed all of my targets save four species ( Caribbean Dove , Yellow-billed Parrot , Jamaican Owl , and Stolid Flycatcher ). I’ve missed the saucy, parrot-like corvids more than I can say since moving back east, so this started my every day on a good note – as did looking out the bedroom window to see Nashville Warblers and Lazuli Buntings moving their newly-fledged chicks around the yard. Now, none of these are great rarities.

Seals can mimic humans, you've heard of Crows and Parrots mimicing human speech but Seals can to, one Harbor seal named Hoover was able to mimic his owners voice and could say stuff like "Get over here!" Deer, cattle, camel and goats are more closely related to dolphins and whales then they are with horses.

Howard, a Brooklynite who owned a goat farm in the area in the 1890s, the neighborhood was essentially founded by Howard’s creation of the Howard Estates Development Company, which dredged and filled enough land on which to build a neighborhood. The notion of sly birding reminds me of being a lone birding kid and noting my lifer Prairie Warbler during a grade school walk-a-thon at Goat Island. Heading south on a good surfaced road, we made slow progress through the herds of cattle, donkeys and goats that thronged the highway, until we finally reached the land of the Konso. Pods of Hippopotamus snorted at us, however the keen birders were more enthralled at finding the highly localized Northern Masked Weaver.

Of course, when speaking of the devil, it is hard for me not to mention the song “The best ever death metal band from Denton” by The Mountain Goats. ” Of course, as a certified cat person, I was delighted to see a Green Catbird near Brisbane. Generally, this is not a bird getting a lot of good press.
