The third weekend of January, I travelled to the coastal city of Acapulco to give a seminar on family finances at a church there. These goods, purchased with Mexican silver, would then be transported overland through Mexico City, and shipped from Veracruz to Spain. And my hosts, God bless them, seemed eager to make that happen.

Additional helpful design features include the names of family groups against a yellow-and-white striped background on every page corner and having every bird image facing right (except for that Common Loon chick!), I’ve missed this information, especially when I travel to Los Angeles to visit my daughter and her family.

We were then able to walk down Upper Thomson Road and get public transport back to our hotel. About halfway between Marymount Road and Upper Thomson Road we had the pleasure of sitting and observing Blue-crowned Hanging Parrots. Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot. Singapore is a great place to enjoy the woodpecker family.

Mealy Parrots made their presence known, and we were treated with excellent views of Blue-headed Parrot that flew into a tree we were already examining. Familiar, but beautiful regardless: Blue-headed Parrot Another small parrot species landed on a tree in the distance. Meanwhile, the forest edge was awash with birds.

The Black-faced Monarch is a relative in the same bird family, the Monarchidae. They might want to look for a better press representation though, as the related NYT article is titled “ Trash Parrots Invent New Skill in Australian Suburbs “, which is kind of a mixed message.
