We can say with much certainty that the majority of people admire and are fascinated with the resplendent colors of macaws, parrots, toucans and hummingbirds. Many birds around the world in the Robin family ( Turdidae ) are favorites due to their musical songs. Little boys kill thousands of birds each year with slingshots.

A Southern Cassowary ( Casuarius casuarius ) that may have tried to kill me. This compact and surprisingly wide billed little bird used to be part of the monarch-flycatcher family, but is now with its congener in its own family. There were also treats for fans of parrots, including a Double-eyed Fig-parrot and some King Parrots.

Seals can mimic humans, you've heard of Crows and Parrots mimicing human speech but Seals can to, one Harbor seal named Hoover was able to mimic his owners voice and could say stuff like "Get over here!" Deer, cattle, camel and goats are more closely related to dolphins and whales then they are with horses. . •

The one bird I did not see here, however, was the Bateleur Eagle … One highlight in the area is the Saddle-billed Stork , likely to be the tallest species in the stork family. Another member of the stork family, the African Openbill , looks like it is could benefit from a good orthodontist. They are great for apartment settings.
