Corey enjoyed getting out on birding outings both mornings of the weekend, and was out in nature with his family both afternoons. Though he added Louisiana Waterthrush , Blue-gray Gnatcatcher , and Yellow-throated Warbler to his year list, Corey most enjoyed watching a Northern Mockingbird doing singing in the Rockaways.

These chimps are currently at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s New Iberia Research Center. The Humane Society wants 9 chimps that are not being "used" as part of experiments to be released to a sanctuary. This is the same place that was nailed by a Humane Society undercover investigation. Interesting.

Clark’s Nutcracker , sometimes called the Crow Woodpecker , will always be paired with Lewis’s Woodpecker , the woodpecker that acts like a crow, both because of their cross-family likenesses and because of their namesakes. It was a wonderful experience and one that none of us will soon forget.
