Having said all that, I’ll give some context by showing, once again, an image I included in my post just last week: This photo, downloaded from a birders’ chat, shows Lake Cuitzeo on Monday, February 5th. Both species can theoretically breed in central Mexico, but in my experience are almost exclusively winter visitors.

Only when I downloaded my images did I spot the ring, which was clear and easy to read (2BAT). It was only after I had downloaded my photographs on my iPad that I noticed that the bird was tagged, with a yellow tag 4F in each wing. Once again I did my internet research and managed to contact the person who had ringed the gull.

Its waterproof fold-able covers bring back childhood memories… I must have had some illustrated children book with similar covers – my fingertips remember the experience. To give more attention to local taxa, all subspecies groups present in the region have full entries as well. What I don’t like?

While almost everything is up and running beautifully, I haven’t managed to figure out how to use the updated photo editor program I downloaded, or to transfer my old program to the new computer. Los bebés (the babys), Gustavo and Alberto, are the youngest members of the group, and only recently got their degrees. Still, sorry!
